Will Edsyndicate place advertisements on my
site?
|
|
No!
Perhaps the biggest problem with so-called
"free" site construction services is
that most require you to display
"banner" advertisements on your site
in order to pay the hosting costs. You have no
control over the types of products being
displayed on your site and the advertisement of
"random" and sometimes questionable
products and services adversely impacts your
image.
Edsyndicate will not place advertisements on
your site!

|
Do I need to know HTML to build my own Edsyndicate
site?
|
|
No.
Although you can make your site more attractive
by entering simple HTML into the provided
content management system, you are not required
to know any HTML to create a site.
|
|
How long will it take to activate my site after
I complete registration?
|
|
After signing up,
you will immediately be able to view your site
by following a temporary URL that we will set
up for you during registration.
If you have chosen to use a new or existing
domain name for your Edsyndicate site, you may
need to wait a couple of days for the changes
you make with your domain name registrar to
take effect. Domain information can sometimes
propagate within hours of making the change,
though.

I don't have a digital camera or a scanner. How
can I put regular photographs on my site?
|
|
If you don't
have a digital camera or a scanner, you can
usually take standard pictures to a local
camera store or film developer and they can
transfer the images to digital format.
When the transfer is complete, they should give
you a diskette or CD-Rom containing the picture
files which you can then upload to your site.
If you don't feel comfortable doing the
initial site setup yourself, Edsyndicate can do
it for you! Just send us an email at
info@edsyndicate.com
for more
information.
|
|
Do I need a computer to create and manage my
site?
|
|
Yes.
In order to create and maintain a site,
you must have a computer with a
"modern" web browser and Internet
access. We recommend Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.0 or greater or Netscape 4.0 or
greater.

|
What kind of support is included with
Edsyndicate's site services?
|
|
In order to make
our quality services as affordable as possible,
Edsyndicate currently uses email as its primary
means of support.
This decision was made due to our interest in
keeping operating costs low as we grow our
business while allowing the greatest level of
accessibility to Edsyndicate's technical
and management staff. Email support offers
highly efficient,
asynchronous
communication which does not require expensive
call centers and keeps customers from spending
valuable time on hold.
We believe that email promptly answered
by our technical staff provides the highest
quality of support for our customer's
issues.
|
|
Can I speak directly with someone at
Edsyndicate?
|
|
Certainly.
We use email as our first line of support, but
a phone call can sometimes resolve issues more
quickly. If we determine that your question is
better handled by speaking directly with
someone at your organization, we will contact
you at the number you submitted during
registration.
If you have an issue or question that is not
addressed in our Frequently Asked Questions or
Customer Support sections or you don't feel
that you can properly address your question in
an email, just request that an Edsyndicate
representative give you a call.

|
What are the payment options for Edsyndicate's
services?
|
Currently, payment
for Edsyndicate's services is accepted by
credit card only. We do this for a number of
reasons:
-
Credit cards are the safest and most
widely accepted way to transfer money on
the Internet.
We require credit cards because they are
safe and simple. Unlike electronic checks,
wire transfers or debit cards, most credit
cards offer buyer protection against online
fraud. In many cases, you can also dispute
charges for services if you are not
satisfied with the quality or terms of
service after purchase.
-
Credit cards make it easy and
inexpensive for us to collect subscription
fees.
Unlike wasteful and time-consuming paper
billing, payment by credit card is
inexpensive for us to verify and process.
Credit cards also expedite the refund
process if you are ever owed a credit. Even
though there is a small service charge for
credit card transactions, the overall
result of payment by credit card lowers our
operating costs which means we can charge
our customers less for the services we
provide.
